2017 is proving quite the year for Shanti Celeste. Along with minting the first two releases on her Peach Discs imprint, she’s also dropped new material for Dekmantel’s 10th birthday series. Returning to her old stomping ground of Bristol’s Idle Hands, ‘Make Time’ and ‘Thoughts’ are two warm, dubby house cuts that show Celeste’s artistic maturity as well as making the most of the palette she’s always painted with. Part of the charm of this release is the manner in which it turns sounds usually found in more rugged stylings - the pummelling dancehall-influenced bass of the A-side, for instance - and sands the edges off in a manner equivalent to that of Pink-era Four Tet.
