Man like Colin Stetson serves up another collection of saxophone explorations to school anyone within fifty feet of a reed instrument. Despite having boosted his profile since 2016’s Sorrow through work with Bon Iver, Animal Collective and BadBadNotGood, Stetson does not seem to give two hoots (pun intended) about a potentially expanded listenership. All This I Do For Glory sees Stetson go as deep into his craft as at any point in his career, with each of the tracks landing at the outer limits of what he, his instrument and music as a whole can do. From this we get the baritone-industrialism of ‘Between Water and Wind’, the mutated song of ‘Like Wolves on the Fold’ and the horn-metal workout of closer ‘The Lure of the Mine’.
