An artist who can claim to have had arguably the biggest influence on the British club soundscape in the past decade, David Kennedy both paints with his usual palette on this three-track EP and also casts off into uncharted territory. The title track, with its head-down drum work and chatty synths, is classic PS and will do well in clubs across the land. However, ‘Eels’ is a weightless exploration of ambience and electroacoustics, with synthesisers, found sounds and glockenspiels dancing cautiously around one another over the track’s six minutes. Closer ‘Heal Me’ is something of a halfway house - while the drums are clearly rooted in the lineage of dubstep and techno, the track’s languid shuffle and sparse, mournful keys come across like PS chopping-and-screwing his own work as much as him creating in his own image.
