Bristol’s No Corner imprint have struck gold with this one. YLTCU (You Let Them Catch Up) has put out a tape full of finely crafted beats and intriguing sonic explorations. Controlled Folly runs the gauntlet of club soundscapes - for instance ambient techno on ‘ITS’, the Hessle Audio sound on ‘£’ and grime fit to shell down any room on ‘Back to the Future’ - while bringing a unique flavour to each. There is a latent maximalism made apparent by the busy beats and the Teeza feature on ‘Aquaman’, but the attention to detail means that even the busiest cuts have space to breathe. Each of the 60 tapes comes with a uniquely printed cover and download code.
