Crazy package here from the guys at Hospital Productions! Water Witches collates the work of Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, aka Vatican Shadow/Prurient etc. Despite being one of his lesser known aliases, RSE is one of the most evocative and ethereal of Dominik Fernow’s projects. Many of the tracks here hit the ten minute mark, with long and sprawling soundscapes allowing the listener time to fall under Fernow’s spell. The shorter pieces are of equal merit though, with two minute sketches such as ‘Malaysia Yellow Herbs’ and ‘Spirit Companion Sick-Bed’ conjuring up vivid imagery too. Nice opportunity to delve deep into just one of the many sonic worlds that RSE inhabits!
