New from Soundway, this from the indefinable but essential Heliocentrics. Over the last decade, they've worked with musical heavyweights from any number of genres, from Gaslamp Killer and Madlib to Melvin van Peebles, Orlando Julius, Mulatu Astatke and the late David Axelrod. For their fourth album, the band invited Slovakian singer Barbora Patkova into the 'Quatermass Sound Lab', the vintage studio in east London where they record their work. The result is an inviting world of sound and structure, a combination of open experimentation and narrative stability which are testament to the band's unique connection.
