One of the biggest names in the world of African music sees his near-forgotten soundtrack to slave era drama Ceddo reissued on vinyl for the first time since 1977. A wonderful collection of soft vibraphone tones and mysterious yet playful drum breaks, Ceddo is a bit of a lost gem amid Dibango’s back catalogue. The LP kicks off with a seven minute long epic which seems to hold no easily identifiable structure and keeps us guessing the whole way through. Truly magical soundtrack music in the vein of Umiliani or Morricone, top stuff!
