Suhail Yusuf Khan is one of the finest exponents of the Indian string instrument the sarangi, and his collaboration with folkster James Yorkston and double-bassist Jon Thorne bears more fruit on their second album together. Yorkston and Khan’s voices dovetail wonderfully across the record, and there is real vibrancy to the instrumentals of songs like ‘Chori Chori’. The slow build of fifteen-minute epic ‘Halleluwah’ is a masterful demonstration of three musicians who, after mastering their respective forms, come together to forge something new.
