To celebrate its fifth birthday, Madrid’s Analogical Force is releasing three EPs in the Voiceless series. Y, the second of these, picks up where X left off by presenting five cuts of quick, nimble and often very beautiful techno. The tracks from Daed, Rolando Simmons and Techdiff all flit around at jungle tempo, though the stylings are very much from the modular school. Cignol slows things down to a more recognisable acid pulse on ‘Quest’, and Gareth Clarke rounds things off on ‘Smoke’ by letting the EP’s latent junglism come to the fore.
