Josh Eustis and Turk Dietrich return to their Second Woman project with a new volume of future proofed footwork and dub techno experiments for Editions Mego.

Having recently given us a look into their collective listening habits outside of the studio with the killer Fact mix, Second Woman's S/W builds upon these layers of influence - Nordic dub, rinsin' jungle, aquatic electro and boundary crushing UIQ style techno - and channels the duo's collective skills to look further out into the void, the resulting nine tracks amount to some of Editions Mego's most DJ ready swagger.

The skeletal rhythms sound like the best dubplates from Shackleton or Parris transported to a Terminator 2 style future, shot into oblivion and put back together by the sleek metal hand that graces the cover of Actress's similarly metal melting AZD.

S/W switches lanes between styles with ease, be it robust funk as found on //// \ which could be that DMX Krew soundtrack to Metropolis we have been dreaming of. Or //// which sounds like a first generation Space Invaders arcade machine being soundtracked by an 8-bit Mark Fell in Sentielle Objectif Actualité mode. While ////\\ just begs to be mixed with Jlin's Ra. This is all topped off by decayed metallic rust of ////\ which spans the same dimension intrusions of Der Zyklus's Renormalon if it has been basic channelled through the sequencer of Rian Treanor.
