Posh Isolation may creep closer to 200 releases (this is 193), but they seem to be in no mood for celebrating or taking their foot off the gas. Bells of Addiction is as foreboding as anything else they’ve come out with, seeing Internazionale pasting slabs of noise atop highly distorted soundscapes and low rumbles of bass. It recalls a chopped-and-screwed version of another PI artist Lust For Youth in the way it puts 80s synth-pop textures through the ringer to create something mournful and grandiose, and the tape recording heavily hazed in reverb brings to mind Forest Swords without the drums. There are, however, periods of calm in the storm - check the clouds-parting melody that sees out ‘The Pale and the Colourful’.
