Antinote Records (Toulouse Low Trax, Succhiamo Succhiamo) return with another intriguing piece, this time courtesy of Israeli musician and producer Alek Lee. The title track is based on a recording Lee made in a Tel Aviv school several years prior to Sfarot’s release. He douses the children’s voices in reverb and delay, adding a shuffling drum beat and keys to create a sprawling, curious and charming lead song. The dub of ‘Sfarot’ throws violin (played by Lee himself) and clarinet into the mix in place of the schoolchildren. ‘Harabait’ rounds the record out with a variation on the theme established in the previous tracks - the drums groove plenty here, and the dubby horns and wiggly keys are cut from the same cloth (and possibly session) as the other two tracks.
