Sacred Tapes (Maersk, Swaggerjack) with another experimental opus here. This one comes courtesy of Katz Mulk. On Katzenungen the trio have created a strange piece of sound art that runs to both sides of the cassette. Katz Mulk’s approach is not dissimilar to fellow Sacred Tapes artist Laurie Tompkins. Proceedings will often crescendo from a mere tape hiss to cacophonies of clanging percussion and voice. Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe also comes to mind.
