Ten years of Dekmantel, eh. Well actually ten of the club night, eight of the label and five of the festival, but that’s still a damn good showing. To celebrate, the brand that has become synonymous with Amsterdam nightlife releases the first in a series of celebratory EPs from old friends and fresh faces. Gigi Masin’s ‘Maja’ is a gorgeous opener, the fuzzy piano chords and feather-light shuffle bottling the feeling of the last song of the night. Vakula’s ‘Robot Fuck the System’ is the sort of beefy techno one would expect of a track with such a title, and Roman Flugel serves up some quizzical 100-bpm house on ‘Mice on Stick’.
