1992 saw the release of The Brothers Grimm’s ‘Exodus (The Lion Awakes)’, a track of which Zomby once said ‘I’d like to see someone stand still when this shit drops’. 25 years on and there is still life in this hardcore classic. Sneaker Social Club (Throwing Snow, Bass Clef) throw the original in at the back end of this EP, fronted by remixes from Luke Vibert and The Maghreban. Vibert’s version slows things down to a pleasant slow-house shuffle, allowing the cracking samples space to breathe and adding a neat bleep-bloop lead line. The Maghreban also keeps things around 120 bpm, though the dubby atmospherics and Roland synth stabs similarly honour the original track.
