Australian label Black Truffle serves as ambient musician Oren Ambarchi’s outlet for releasing both his own music and music of fellow experimentalists he has encountered along the way. People Pleaser is the debut release on the label for fellow Australian percussionist Will Guthrie and serves as a document of his current free jazz and rhythmic noise meanderings. Across the eleven tracks Guthrie combines found objects and ‘junk’ with a mix of drums and electronics to present a wide array of interesting sonics. Recommended for fans of Keiji Haino, NWW list experiments and Steve Beresford.
