Last year Shit and Shine quietly released a brilliant four track 12” on new Glasgow imprint Heated Heads. Operated by ex John Peel assistant and Rubadub mainstay Mark Maxwell, the music of the Texas based noise project was a perfect fit for the label. Next up is Total Shit, a nine tracker on home label Diagonal that spans warped minimal wave, abrasive techno and post-punk sensibilities and merges them into one coherent and singular sound. Rock n roll to the max, this is far from easy listening, but then again is anything on Diagonal? Top shelf stuff for fans of energetic and uncompromising music.
