Magical piano works, vocal manipulation reminiscent of Robert Ashley’s ‘Automatic Writing’ and tribal percussion all come together on this fantastic double LP. Born out of the Cologne based Magazine label, of which Barnt is a founding member, the group show an obvious talent for collaboration over the course of the eight tracks on offer here. Their second album, much like the first, is fully indebted to the krautrock movement yet the group deliver a sophisticated modern take on it. They successfully fuse club-ready edits (Welt 3 Magazine Edit) with downtempo gems that could easily have come from a lost mid 70s demo tape. We personally recommend checking out Welt 1, Welt 2 and Welt 6, but the whole thing makes for an immersive listening experience.
