DJ Q, Royal T and Flava D unite for the first full-length as supergroup TQD. UKG is both a homage to the core instincts of garage and a doffing of the cap to all of the tertiary genres that have made it such a resilient sound. Bassline, house, grime and dubstep are all blended into the shuffles here, an expected feat given the versatility that each producer has shown in their solo careers. Unsurprisingly given that this is a Butterz release, P Money, Swindle and Skilliam all lend a hand - the former to a rework of 2016’s booky jam ‘Ghosts’, with the others blending in nicely on the soulful ‘New Day’.
