And so it is that we get to Trilogy Tapes’ fiftieth release. How far Will Bankhead has brought us, and how far left to go. Pulling no punches with this one, Bass Clef comes through with two lengthy cuts that manage to be as euphoric as they are tough. ‘Entendrillar’ is all punchy piano stabs and ‘woo!’s from the get-go. Later on, a warping and chirruping synth refreshes the groove for its second half. The near-nine-minute ‘Transprism’ runs with a similar formula, with strings rising ever higher as the most euphoric of keyboard lines makes you want to throw your hands up wherever you’re listening to it. Lord knows what it’ll be doing in the clubs in the wee small hours.
