Even as his star has risen higher in the dance-pop firmament Todd Terje has approached his craft with a charming quirkiness, perfectly happy to release records with silly names and Brighton-Beach-caricaturist artwork. On this release he blindsides convention once more by releasing two remixes of ‘Jungelknugen’ before said track has been released itself. The Four Tet rework is full of beans, recalling Floating Points’ ‘Vacuum Boogie’ in the way it recycles the chirruping synths and thick bassline to ecstatic effect. The Prins Thomas b-side is more serious but no less enjoyable, chopping and screwing the original over a propulsive single-note bass chug.
