Appearing on our radar back in 2014 with the killer ‘Death Flutes’ on his Forbidden Planet twelve inch, the Australian producer Rory McPike has used more than a few aliases since then. Rings Around Saturn is perhaps his most open-ended and unpredictable alias, often using lush Detroit techno esque melodies and broken beat boogie influenced drum programming as opposed to his more techno or jungle centric endeavours. Firecracker/Unthank boss Lindsay Todd gifts us with this special package of not just seven previously unheard tracks from McPike but with a beautiful package to boot. Special mention to Al White (12th Isle) on the art and printing collaboration.
