One of the most charming and idiosyncratic contemporary songwriters, Jens Lekman’s fourth LP sees him yoke his unique talents to the sprightly pop production style of Ewan Pearson (The Rapture, Goldfrapp, loads of others). Songs like ‘What’s That Perfume That You Wear’ and ‘How We Met, The Long Version’ see Lekman’s witty and affecting lyrics cresting atop snappy beats. Elsewhere, ‘Hotwire the Ferris Wheel’ and ‘To Know Your Mission’ are sweet indie ballads taken to the next level by Lekman’s sensitive voice and knack for imbuing his stories with great sensitivity.
