A label on the rise, Madam X has recruited Manchester producer Walton for the third EP on her exciting new imprint, Kaizen. After releases on Hyperdub and Tectonic, Walton has already shown his worth as a producer of dark and textured beats. Taiko draws inspiration from the far East, produced with a distinctly UK sound. Club ready tracks with an explorative feel. Opening track ‘Tensions’ sets the tone with Japanese flute sounds and minimal percussion stabs. Title track ‘Taiko’ and b side ‘Black Hole’ take the pace up a few notches, with layers of rolling tribal drum patterns.
