BNJMN has often taken the long way round in his approaches to techno, and this new EP out via Tresor is no different. ‘Overskies’ is weightless, with murky pedal notes underpinning whirring modulars and impressionistic, half-improvised keyboard lines, while ‘Enceladus’ kicks off the b-side on a horror-ambience tip. The other two cuts ‘Hadal Zone’ and ‘Syzygy’ aim for the dancefloor, the former a skittish roller, the latter swifter and recalling the golden age of the late '90s central European megaclub.
