Amen to that title. One of the UK’s most righteous creative forces, GNOD drag themselves kicking and screaming into 2017 for their third lengthy release in a year. ‘Bodies For Money’ and ‘Paper Error’ are pummelling, furious pieces of kraut-grind that make The Fall sound like Mumford & Sons; ‘People’ slouches towards Bethlehem with a manic gleefulness; ‘Real Man’ is a sickly slab of death-disco, with great sheets of noise slapped on top of a meaty groove and a career-best turn from diatribist-in-chief Paddy Shine. Things close out with ‘Stick in the Wheel’, a two-part epic that starts like the Birthday Party and finishes like the freakier end of Autechre.
