Ethereal sonic sculptures permeated by found sounds and a layer of icy pensivity. Assembled by two long-term friends in deepest rural Sweden, LNLNN is an album which speaks not only of winters solitude but of the ‘woods and the widths of the north’. There are hints of Burial, murky old Chain Reaction material and the collage stylings of Leyland Kirby, but Gidge’s music remains of its own. Sharp woodblock rhythms weave in and out of manipulated vocals and field recordings to create a unique atmosphere. Perfect for this time of year, and a welcome addition to the musical arsenal of anybody who relates to the term ‘seasonal affective disorder’ – solid recommendation from the Bleep camp!
