One of Canada’s most consistently interesting bands of the past decade, Timber Timbre’s sixth studio LP Sincerely, Future Pollution is a piece of dystopian electronica for our times. Don’t be fooled by the cuddly keyboard tones and languid tempos - there is bite and snarl here to rival anyone else doing it at the moment. Songs like the title track and ‘Western Questions’ go deep into the big issues and how they relate to us as individuals, all delivered in Taylor Kirk’s trademark conversational baritone. The band also repeat their trick of incorporating complicated rhythms, techniques and time-signatures into their music with minimal showiness and maximum effect - just check the Dirty-Projectors-at-sea harmonies on ‘Grifting’.
