London based label Discrepant continue on from their amazing ‘Disquiet’ release, an imaginary soundtrack record from the tail end of 2016 which we feel flew under the radar for many people. For their first release of 2017, the label pools together a group of contemporary electronic musicians with a close relationship to Portugal and the country's rich musical history. Adapting and reshaping traditional work songs (‘o Trabalho’), artists such as Negra Blanca, Calhau! and Glasgow based Luar Domatrix recontextualise these folk songs for home listening and dancefloor pleasure alike.
