Soho based record label Village Green present the debut album from electronic duo Soft Error, an intriguing and fast paced journey taking influence from the German motorik sound, textural ambient and futurism inspired synthesis. Recorded at the Greenhouse studio in Reykjavik, Iceland, the album ranges from cinematic ambient pieces (Southend after Everyone Has Left) through to the frantic boogie sounds of ‘Motorbath’ and lead single ‘You Caught Up’. There is something undeniably post-rock about the whole aesthetic of the album, as if the musicians grew up on instrumental electronic/guitar hybrids, but it remains hard to bracket into any particular genre.
