Teaming up with Rotating Assembly member, Duminie Deporres and Dirt Tech Reck head Waajeed for his first new material since 2014’s American Intelligence, Theo Parrish is back baby! This two-track EP contains the kind of deep and sensual, off-kilter funk that you’d only expect from monsieur Parrish. The rhythms intricately weave in and out of focus without making a big deal of it and all elements are layered in the mix perfectly so. ‘Warrior Code’ bumbles along, hung chords a near constant throughout. On the flip ‘Leave The Funk To Us’ has a cheeky feel, embodied in the whispered vocal loop ‘leave the funk to us’ with melodies played that seldom repeat themselves again.
