The Modern Obscure Music (MOM) label drops this new 12 track album from Barcelona based producer Pedro Vian, an assortment of haunting and wistful soundscapes which bring to mind Andy Stott or Pye Corner Audio. Opening cut ‘Pandora’ sets the tone wonderfully, with some ethereal sound design and unrelenting, cluttered groove driving it along and building up the tension. Skip forward to the next track ‘Invisible Objects’ and the tempo rises dramatically, all crashing percussion with an old school Chicago style ferocity. The rest of the album bridges the spaces in between, the whole thing permeated by a strong feeling of introspection – top stuff. Released in tandem with a special remixes LP featuring man of the moment Peder Mannerfelt and LIES affiliate Eric Copeland.
