An accomplished member of the Trip family, Icelandic DJ and producer Bjarki closes off an incredible 2016 with a great, genre-bending bang. This two-tracker channels the fog-machine-soaked days of rave and acid house through a prism of Bjarki’s singular rhythmic sensibility. ‘Fresh Jive’ kicks off with jittering metallic percussion, as quick-fire breaks later enter the scene alongside a neat hardcore lead. Meanwhile, ‘Genat 8’ flips the script with a brooding slow-build of vamping bass and viscous textures.
