Willie Hutch's second album Season for Love was the last he would release with RCA before joining the behemoth of Berry Gordy. It was at Motown that he would write songs for Smokey Robinson and the Jackson 5 and record the Blaxploitation soundtracks he is best remembered for – The Mack and Foxy Brown. Sometimes overlooked, this second album treats listeners to a softer, subtler kind of soul. Departing from the grittiness of Soul Portrait, Hutch imparted a sense of contemplation and reflection into each track. And positioned between his more urgent and prominent works, Season for Love has an even sweeter groove. Original vinyl copies of this album are rare. This release is officially licensed and has been remastered for vinyl by engineer Simon Francis, pressed on 180g vinyl for the first time and features the original, rarely seen artwork.
