One for the crate-diggers, Edna Wright's sublime debut from the soul era Oops! Here I Go Again gets a much-welcomed reissue. Originally released in 1977 on RCA and produced by Wright's husband Greg Perry, the album initially received an underwhelming response, spawning just one single. A surge towards disco pushed many potential classics to the wayside, this being one. But over the course of forty years, Wright's angelic yet earthy vocals have carved out their mark. The title-track found hip hop notoriety after being looped by Prince Paul on De La Soul's 'Pass the Plugs', or you might recognise the same intro from Leon Vynehall's 'Midnight on Rainbow Road', as featured on Rush Hour's Musik for Autobahns 2. The rest of the album is no less special – maybe more so for having spent years under the radar. Officially licensed and remastered for vinyl by celebrated engineer Simon Francis, it has been pressed on 180g vinyl for the first time and features the original artwork. Each copy includes a printed inner sleeve with a black and white photo, lyrics and notes from Edna herself.
