Cloaked in mystery, the Nokuit project rolls out a heavily sedated album / mixtape that further blurs the lines between gravely sound design and the murkier ends of noise.
Reality Disappears After Waking builds upon the atmospheres previously explored on the claustrophobic wreck of the Analysis Paralysis systems. Slowly building in intensity before melting into the kind of melancholic wash of Leyland Kirby style Intrigue and Stuff techno. Its 38 minute plus duration seeps through the minutes, eating away at each second with an oil thick intensity that keeps a growing menace under a strong gaze. Each section threatening to unravel any second while the next dreary eyed slab slumps into view.
Counteracting this on the second tape, Disrupted Sleep builds upon the ideas explored by Asher Levitas on his Lit Harness LP, but transforms the concept into a mixtape of startlingly gothic proportion. Billed as a mixtape by those involved, it's hard to tell what's what between the rumbling basslines that have an oceanic depth or the far off field recording ambience that brings to a close the most crucial entry to this unit's discography yet.
One for all the fans of Lussuria, Biosphere, Haswell etc. etc. etc.
