John Flynn and JP Hartnett debut their collaborative project Ordinate with this punishing four track EP on new label Abscissa. Having previously worked with Björk and had two twelve inches released on our own Bleep imprint, Flynn is perhaps better known by his Spaces moniker. On this project he opts for full-on, cavernous industrial techno, aided by 1631 affiliated Hartnett. There’s no denying the damage ‘OR 17/18’ will inflict on a giant sound-system, proper Surgeon-esque big room vibes here. Some of the other tracks, such as OR 5, opt for a slightly less hypnotic and more abstract approach. Recorded 2013 through to 2015 in East London.
