By harbouring sandblasted electro together with tape saturated techno, October comes with a sound, lamented here across six tracks, which epitomises the current trend for hybridising music styles. The idea for the release dates back to 2014 and is essentially an exploration of tempos, texture and rhythm laid down onto magnetic tape. Rugged drums and fierce basslines are met with ghostly synth lines, manic harmonies and sound design that washes over you like a dust cloud. It’s a harmonious relationship with label and artist too, both stalwarts in their city making this release Bristol through and through.
