Faitiche welcome a new album of works from the man behind Sad Rockets, a Berlin based but Soviet born experimental musician named Andrew Pekler. Utilising pseudo-ethnography, field recordings and otherworldly synth textures Pekler creates a fairly unique multiverse primed for fans of Nurse with Wound or Madteo, wanting to join the dots. ‘Humidity Index/Khao Sok’ seemingly draws upon the Hassell/Eno Possible Music continuum and brings a slightly more contemporary computerised element to their vision. Tristes Tropiques is an intriguing listen start to finish, and most likely a buy on sight for anyone already familiar with Pekler’s work.
