Bleep

Even by the standards of Village Green (Snow Palms, Ellis Island Sound) the debut LP from Dead Light is a beautiful listen. The duo of Anna Rose Carter and Ed Hamilton retreated to the countryside to record Dead Light, and the quiet they gained in leaving the city behind clearly allowed them to focus. Tracks like ‘Blooms’ are so intimate that you can hear the piano keys clacking as they’re hit. The way they combine contemporary classical influences with ambient music brings to mind some imaginary collaboration between Ryuichi Sakamoto and Grouper.
