RP Boo turns up the heat with his most raw selections yet for Planet Mu, picking up where his stellar Fingers, Bank Pads & Shoe Prints left off with a six-tracker of raw jamz.
Living up to its title's proclamation, this latest from RP is the tightest footwork to emerge pretty much since his last side, the stern title track contains a metallic chugging snare roll that adds a solid weight to the pressure, before the watery bleep techno roll Bang To The Funk spins things into a different headspace with spiralling number countdown giving the tune a disorientating tilt to delirious effect.
Elsewhere RP takes on the sort of minimalist approach to bass science that mirrors Logos, with The King setting itself up as a weightless crossover anthem. Whilst Electric Energy racks up a machine gun hi-hats towards a cheeky vocal sample that's sure to perk the ears of those stuck in a 98' headspace.
If you only buy one 12" in this style this year this really is The Ultimate.
