The new double pack from Soul Jazz collates a string of 45 rpm singles from Betty Harris, produced under the studio guidance of Allen Toussaint. Opening with the 1969 classic ‘There’s a Break in the Road’, the following 16 tracks span psychedelic funk, northern soul ballads and disco groovers. Both a great retrospective for die-hard fans as well as a great introduction to Betty for the uninitiated, SJ have yet again proved their undying love for rescuing music which may well have otherwise been time forgotten.
