Much awaited ambient synthesizer works from ex-Emeralds member Steve Hauschildt, one of our favourite electronic musicians currently operating. Steve makes music that appears to ebb and flow completely organically, traversing through the cosmos in a fashion that even Gottsching or Schulze would admire. The title track is the sort of life-affirming, pulsating ambience that we can imagine sound tracking John C. Lilly’s infamous isolation tank experiments, the warm tones seeming to drift off endlessly whilst Lilly navigates the inner void. Released via Kranky, the home of Steve’s last three albums, Strands is a must for any fans of contemporary takes on the new age continuum.
