The second 12” release for Call Super of 2016 sees the standout British producer make yet another left turn that still doesn’t bring him back to where he started. Combining dub and house on ‘Puppet Scene’ in a manner that echoes the weightless grime sound being pushed by Mumdance and Logos more than it does either of those two genres tags. ‘New Life Repercussions’ is a smooth, melancholic roller featuring a brooding piano line alongside the kind of atmospheric squawks, hisses and jangles that spring the vision of a rainforest into your mind. Excellent work by a supreme talent.
