Emerging from the same scene in Munich that the Zenker Brothers and latterly Skee Mask came from, newcomer PYUR makes her debut on Hotflush with a remarkably accomplished full length. Recently the label has become a hotbed for functional house and techno, though what’s presented here marks a shift towards euphoric collages of electronica. It’s a record of contrasts, where sharp, soaring electronics meet delicately lulled percussion. Endowed with innately stronge Synaesthesia PYUR utilised this sense after honing her craft as a musician, first as a guitarist and latterly through making electronic music. She got to a point where it felt like the music was making her and not the other way around.
