Surreal and pastoral avant-folk from Editions Mego distributed Ideologic Organ, courtesy of Thrill Jockey export Daniel Higgs. The outsider musician delivers an unnerving cacophony of sound, utilising guitar, percussion, field recordings and electronic manipulation whilst delivering some form of preacher-esque speech throughout. Pushing forth his belief that the earth is on its 34th cycle in previous encounters, the composers worldview is distinctly separate from the norm, perhaps akin to dutch artist Anton Heyboer’s philosophies once delivered on his She and She As One LP back in 1976. This unique perspective shines through on the uncompromising music we hear on this latest outing, and will appeal to fans of Eden Ahbez or Sun Ra all the way through to Robbie Basho.
