Sonic Pieces, a label that specialises in sonic subtleties and minute moments, describes the album as the musical equivalent of ‘walking through a meadow’ and it is definitely a walk we would recommend. Rich and colourful, the third solo album from Japanese sound artist Hirano is an investigative exploration into contemporary minimalism. We can hear elements of Pole, Mimi’s Magick, and Koen Holtkamp in this LP, with a timid, even furtive hint at Hirano’s process. Marrying glitch electronica and modular blips with soothing ambient synth work.
