After spending much of the last year focused on his collaborative project with Appleblim, Second Storey makes a welcome return to Fabric’s Houndstooth imprint with an EP inspired by a documentary on the visually stunning metal, Bismuth. And it would be fair to say the aural quality of the title track is quite stunning as well. Fitted with tough, biting kick drums, frenetic percussion and delicate little squeaks and squawks. ‘Vapor Value’ is said to have been made right after a move into a new studio, and so was directly inspired by the move. Melodic poly rhythms sit front and centre, while the electro leaning percussion hits the spot.
