Over the course of more than two-dozen releases the Mancunian label Sacred Tapes has established itself at the forefront of the British avant-garde. This latest single-track, forty-five minute entry from VULJ is another bold piece of art music. NOW/T sees VULJ manipulating sounds sampled from a door and a voice through an MPC-emulating app. The resulting work is a glitchy and challenging piece that straddles the worlds of sound art, concrete and noise.
