Inspired by a childhood fascination of the currency of the album’s namesake country, here Lionel Williams aka Vinyl Williams has created music as translucent, colourful and prismatic as the Brunei Dollar appears. The album uses Islam influenced pop music as a basis to spread opulent harmonies to the wider world, with the aim of benefiting the human psyche and physiology. His voice is often marred in reverb and other such effects, which helps maintain the hazy appeal of the release. Its psychedelic without going overboard and poppy without losing authenticity. It’s just a great listen really and one that can be enjoyed time and again.
